I’ve been privileged to have Allan as an instructor and confidant for almost two years. Without question, he’s the best pro I’ve ever worked with. His methods are simple and sound, reinforcing without being pandering and the video summary following each lesson is incredibly valuable. As an added benefit, his teaching of the mental side of golf is thought provoking and educational.

I have taken lessons as long as I have played golf. Many years ago I had the pleasure of meeting Allan and I began taking lessons from him and have never stopped. Allan has a gift in helping each golfer maximize their potential by working with THEIR swing. He is constantly checking to make sure you understand why something might be occurring so that you learn the ability to address it if it occurs. The videos that you receive following the lesson are terrific, and include the teaching points that were the focus of the lesson. I often review the video before I practice, and after a round of golf. Allan is extremely invested in his students and always encouraging.

Ever since my first lesson with Allan I knew I was working with the right instructor. Focusing on posture, balance and swing mechanics, I began to develop the feel of the correct sequence of events in the golf swing. Along with prompt session feedback, complete with video and voice over commentary, the lesson can be reviewed time and time again. My index was stagnant at 12-14 for 25-30 years. Within a couple of months of working with Allan, my index hit a low of 6.7. I enjoy seeing Allan whether may game is good or a little off. I consider him my golf coach, not just the some one to run to when the wheels are falling off.

When I think of all of the times I read or watched instructions about the golf swing, if I learned anything, the solutions being proposed, if they were successful at all, lasted a very short time. Working with Allan, I have been able to understand the fundamentals of my swing and to build upon such. For me I was “always taking the club inside” causing me to hit it right, left or top it. Seemed like a simple fix, just take it outside (and how much is enough?) as I read or was told repeatedly. So why was it outside? There is the rub. There were so many things I could do the make that mistake. Working with Allan to understand it was more than just trying to take the club more outside. There were so many different factors which caused my mistakes. There was weight distribution on my feet (toes versus heels) , the spine angle and creating “space” to turn, the proper knee flex, soft hands and of course a full turn back and through. For me his ability to focus on the simple basics was key. He slowly built my personal solution; it was not overwhelming at all. His tutorial videos of my lessons are fantastic resources for when things start go back to the old way. Understanding what I need to do for my swing is what really counts. He is a greatly patient, positive teacher; he keeps it simple and does so in a very positive way.

I have taken both private and group lessons from Allan. In each one-on-one, he gave me concrete swing thoughts that were perfect. Each lesson built on the previous one. I found my swing was becoming much more consistent. When I “go off”, I can always go back to the videos of his lessons to get back on track. Allan’s short game school was extremely helpful as well. My putting, chipping and sand play are much improved. He does all of this in a very positive manner. Bye, bye negative thoughts.
